dirty, unwashed, tree-huggin hippies :tup:

Was driving down the motorway today and saw a black bug in the distance ........ ended up side by side with them in the queue of traffic where the M5/M6 join and when i looked over to say hello ............. it was like looking into an old western film :eek:

The couple in the car were older (even than Kev :eek: ) and the guy was in proper cowboy looking jacket, hat, shirt and bootlace tie ............. i'll put money on him having spurs on his boots :tup: And the lady had hair bleached pure white and looked like an ex- saloon girl :tup:

It always makes my day when i see a bug or bus that i don't know .......... but seeing this couple today was brilliant cos they just sooooooooooooo didn't look like your typical dub driver - they looked like they should be riding horses :lol: :lol: :lol:

And they waved goodbye when i got off the motorway :D

The other day someone came into work and said "You own the Beetle don't you?" I said yes then they laughed and went "Ahh we knew it would be you!", what's that supposed to mean :pmsl:

When I first started at Novelis I was constantly being asked "So would that be your van in the carpark then ?"

i saw a new beetle yesterday, lovely, black and pretty slammed....inside it was grandad with his flat cap on...it really made me smile:lol:

I used to see an old gold coloured 1303 around Handsworth been driven by an elderly asian man .......... he had every edge of it covered with chrome trim, and reflectors and badges all over the place :lol: It looked like a magpie had raided a vw scrap yard and picked up everything that was shiney and dumped it on this mans bug. You could tell he really really loved his bug, and it always made me smile when i saw it :D

my father has a big red lorry and sticks as many big shiny chrome lights on it as he can...a kind of pikey magpie

:shake: :slap: i allways get people laugh at me in either of my vans and it really annoys me or kids shout hippy at you and give the v sign instead of the pease sign it really p****s me the other day at work some guy said to me is that your van out there to which i replyed yes and he said well you had better whatch out then we have got the police and the sniffer dogs coming in so you had better hide whatevr you have got on you i mean yeah he was right there was a dang in the glove box but why assume im a stoner because i drive a vw camper van

hmmm, no one has ever said anything like that towards us, but then everyone that would say something to our faces know that we are stoners so.......


not been called a hippie tho, ky has and that was totally unrelated to the dubs, it was cos he has long hair.....

we both get called a freak a lot tho, its the nicest compliment anyones ever given us!!

i have never beening called a hippie or had any abuse of any one when driving either of my vw's people allways stare tho, and if they havent got a smile on there face when they do i just assume they are jelous,
driving through the festival park one night was a bit scary but believe it or not the boy racers where cheering and giving me the thumbs up :tup: that impressed me as the chavs of stoke dont apperiate class :D

when back from my travels and stopping at my folks place a neighbour asked me if i knew who was sleeping in that dodgy looking van, it was my van and i was not sleeping it just closed the curtains each night!

Been called a hippy long befor i got the dub, folks do assume your on the weed if you have a bay as did some armed army looking dudes at the montblank tunell going from italy over, was not sure if they were looking to buy or sell some cannabis tore the van apart looking for it really scared me held up for an hour just as soon as i got out the other side of the tunell i parked up for the night
