the break pedal in my van fees well hard and she dont like stoppin i know shes old but they shouldnt be that hard should they?

try adjusting them with a flat blade screw driver (one half turn ) on each...might work.
but saying that do they work okay or not?

well unless all 4 brake cylinders have seized up very unlikely i would say the master cylinder has seized up or seizing up.unless the adjusters have moved & over adjusted themselfs which can make the pedal feel hard but they would stop you not has good & also if this has happened the brake drums would over heat because they would be permantly on & the bug would be difficult to push/roll,,,, :?
