i think the box is giving up...
changing up the gears ok no problem.
changing down is the problem 4th to 3rd ok, 3rd to 2nd lots of grinding and wont go in till im nearly at a dead stop.
this says to me synchomesh is shagged OR do i just need to adjust me clutch ?

anyone agree ?

p.s. its a 1200 gear box with a 1776cc attached so im not supprised !

And no reference to your driving habits made either!!!


Get a GT Box or a 1600 box at least.

You should be able to pick one up cheap and I'm sure some people on here will have a spare box lying around!

lol i have been thro 3 gearboxes since i fitted my 1776 :oops: loland now i have a 1914 to go in and 9 inch whells on the back i can see more going


mind i have a collection of 3 boxes at the mo just ready to go in and for me to break lol :wink:

I may drive a little mad but one car has a 901 5-speed box and the other has a G50 box so they can kinda take the weight of my heavy right foot!!!
