i have been running my 1973 1285cc engine on unleaded but using a fuel additive.

someone told me today that i need not bother with the beetle as it will run on unleaded without any mods or additives

yeh i dnt bother i did buy some (parents did) but i cud neva b bothered! by the sounds of previous posts on here its all gooood :D

ditch the additive you dont need it. 8)

the heads on a vw are alloy so already have a hardened valve seat.

I've ran unleaded in all manner of aircooled vw engines without additives or adjustments for several years now and never noticed a difference apart from cost!

any post 68 engine will run unleaded fine without additives.
Been running mine on unleaded for the past 10 years with no probs
