I'm looking at getting some wheels coloured, was under the impression that powder coating was the way to go, but I've found its not the cheapest thing in the world!

I was thinking of having two tone done (outer rim one colour, inner rim another). Apparently this is a right pain for powder coating and is really expensive!

What are the benefits of having them powder coated over having them sprayed?

Opinions anyone?

Cheers

spray em.

i had my buggy steels powder coated 2 or 3 main down sides...

1) it chips so easily
2) they can't get it in the joins properly, unless you seel em they rust
3) limited colours....

wheel nuts need checking lots for first 100 miles or so...

Spray them, easy to maintain as you can re do easily if you damage them or fancy a change

Get them sprayed with 2K paint, super hard finish, our work crewie has 2K sprayed wheels and they look the dogs dangles.

Get them blasted (about a fiver each) and then painted in 2pack
Shouldn't be much.

its easier & cheaper to paint, powder coated does chip so with paint you can always repaint them yourself & with paint you can always change the colour of the wheels :) :)
