The wipers on my '72 bug are stupidly bad!... they go really really slow and are next to useless if theres any water on the screen... not really the best situation in the world!

Now... I've tried spraying them with WD40 but couldn't figure out how to take the actual wiper arm off to get right in there... and I've tried spraying the back of the spindle...

Is the motor fooked???

if a nut isn't visible on the wiper arm then remove or flip upthe cover.
remove the nut then prise the wiper arm off with some sort of lever
(screwdriver etc.)protect the paint work with plenty of cloth!!! and work
gently around the wiper arm WATCH THE PAINTWORK :D

my van wipers were very slow and were sprayed with WD on the spindles cos they were part siezed...work great now

cheers kev.... they have got a nut on the bottom of them... will try the screwdriver trick tho...

don't think a little sratch in the paint work will matter... it's mainly primer now anyway!! :D
