can anybody helf with this, when my engine is idleing the oil pressure warning light sometimes comes on, its not all the time, itll be on for ages then suddenly disapeer :S the engine is running at a nice temperate, i know because i have felt the dipstick and its only warm, its oil is at the correct level, and the engine is not worn at all....i changed it to 1641 last weekend, could this have effected it? could it be the oil pressure sensor dieing?
thanks in advance... Luke :)

the first thing to do, is replace your oil pressure switch, (its the cheapest and most likely solution) if that doesn't solve the problem, it could be that your oil pump is not pumping sufficiently, and if it is, then im afraid your engine may just be tired and you'll have to start saving up for a rebuild!

good luck!

My generator light used to come on sometimes.

The solution was easy, and can easily be applied to your oil light.

I took the bulb out.

Try these things in the following order:

Oil Sender Switch
Oil Pump (pain in the arse job with the engine in)
Oil Pressure relief valve(s)
Bottom end rebuild!
