In the last couple of days the 1600 engine in my bay seems to be running shite...Not only does it cut out when you pull at r/bouts etc, it also seems to pick up badly when accelerating especialy 2nd and 3rd. It sort of farts and judders then picks up...I'm not sure whether I need a de-icing unit or what..Any help appreciatted..

Time for a tune-up. Mine did the farty thing in 2nd and 3rd and the cutting out - also check if your autochoke's working.

As I thort ta for that....How can you check the autochoke plze??

make sure when its cold and you operate the throttle it closes (take of the airfillter and look down the venture) and after a few mins running it should open slowly

also check points leads dizzy cap router arm coil and also valve gap as all could contribute to the prob
