Kev is going to set the timing on the bay tomorrow. He's going to time it with the engine off, temporarily until he can get a strobe light on it.

He knows it's 30-32 degrees when set at full advance, but what does he set it to with the engine turned off (or where can he find out)?

I know it depends on the engine number which we don't know off hand...

It's a 009 distributor.

Cheersies me dearsies

Thanks Janie :)

I made the mistake of posting on Vzi mech tech  I hate the smart arse comments I get there.

Hiya sis, If you need a hand, my hubby has just successfully done the timing on my bug which also has a 009, got timing gun too if you need one.

Thank you for that :)

We just had to get it roughly right in order to get it to the aircooled garage. Kev (my other half) thinks there's something else wrong as well now. He spent all day on it today and threw a right strop

Hubbies, bless them :D
