hi i just bought a 68 bug. its hasn't been converted to unleaded but has been running on it. is this ok? or do i need to convert it to unleaded and how much would this cost? also where could i find a full set of seals for it and how much r they? thanks for your help.

I know post '70 engines are ok on unleaded, little unsure about before then.

Unleaded conversion kits are available but they're about £300 but do included heads and stuff. Not needed if it's a post 70 engine.

I'm sure someone on here will come to your rescue and say that I'm talking shit!!! :D...

68 on engines are fine, just retard the ignition a couple of degrees to account for the lower octane rating.

As for the seals, get a complete gasket set from GSF. £10.50+vat, flywheel oil seal and rubber ring £2.00 & 90p +vat.

Should be all you need. :)

pretty straightforward, just need some string and an extra pair of hands.
Last set of bug rubbers I got where from custom and commercial and were a spot on fit
