just wondering if it is possible to sand down chrome items and paint them up?

thinking of giving my hub caps a special look and was thinking whether the paint would take to it ok

also thinking of doing door handles and headlight surrounds

is normal rattle can paint going to be ok?

The chrome is just plating so you will need to remove it all first, then give it a coat of primer then paint away.

you will need to give the paint a good key surface to srick to do this by getting the chrome off then use 250 grade grit sandpaper make sure u clean it spotless after or it will affect the finish good quality rattle cans will work but shake them well first dontforet the laquer :roll:

i had some chrome 8 spokes once (don't laugh) keyed the surface with scotchbrite then sprayed with black smoothrite....it stayed on for six years :wink:
