Bah - you spoiled it. This section was meant to be empty. It showed the world that VWs in the midlands all work perfectly because we are all such ace mechanics. :D

my dad used to put a parrafin heater on the back seat of the car years ago,

used to go out to work with a car fully defrosted and mist free every morning,

that was in the 60's and 70's though , i dont think we would get away with it now though

but im gonna try this year in my bus as its no fun scraping ice from the inside of ya windows :D :D

Aren't you sposed to rub a potato on yer glass?

Wind down the windows.

Instead of extra clothing, try my method of having a big dog panting in the car.

With a bit of trial and error you can eventually find the right dog / window combination to work with each other to provide warmth and vision.

it's cold enough in mine anyway and the eberspacher is playing up it steams them up rather than clearing it so I don't bother!

i've found my mountney wheel keeps my hands warmer than my plastic stock one. just got to get rid of my chrome gearknob now...

I've got a big blanket and some plastic sheeting under the bonnet also stopping the drafts.

shame it doesn't warm up in my 8 minute commute but it's not long enough to get really cold either.

same as me I only take about 10 mins so it's bearable but we come to Ace in it too!

my gearnob is part chrome nowhere I touch though thankfully, I didn't buy chrome for that same reason it's really really cold when ice forms on it!
