My accelerator peddle keeps sticking & have to press it really hard to get it the rest of the way.

Got a nasty flat spot to :(

Could be that yer cable is getting caught on something, or that yer pedal needs a bit of lube, or that you've got summat trapped behind the pedal, like yer lippy or top off a bottle of beer.

mine does that a lot.it's usually the carpet on mine but can't see it until i look behind pedal

And no doubt, you remove the carpet to look behind the pedal so when you look you can't actually see anything that might hindering the pedals movement!!! :D

i thought it was tarmac that was causing it when i pulled the carpet back

also check out the engine end, the guide tube that goes through the fanhousing often comes away causing the cable to stick.

other than that check the hinge on the pedal is not all rusted as.

flat spot is usually down to carb setup.

i'll have a look tomorrow to make sure nothing is under the pedal * i'll spray some wd40 on it.

Vics, don't worry about the back-firing ................ just turn the stereo up louder and you won't be able to hear it :)

That's my technical advise for the day done - who says girls don't know nothing

back firing could be leak on exhaust or sucking air on inlet manifold

have a look the other side of the tunnel from the pedals and you'll see a 'cap' that's bolted on. The accelerator cable attaches on there. Pop that off and see if it's got caught / moves freely etc & also that the plastic cylinder that goes on the bar behind the pedal isn't damaged
