Got a phonecall from a non vw friend to say that a lady who is a friend of the family wants to sell her bug... being a non-vw person i tried to get out of him as much as i can about the bug :shock: :)

... after the sarky answer of ... ugly, 4 wheels etc etc i managed to get out of him (after a lot of describing!) that there was no fuel filler neck on the right(?) wing ... it has sloping headlights... smallish curved rear light cluster etc ... he didnt know anything about if it was 6v or 12v and apparently the lady who owns it doesnt know much about it either other than its a 1967 1500!

can i presume its pre august 1967 by that description?? I'm gonna go an look at it on my own first time to see if i get a feel for it anyhoo!

Then i might be asking for someone off here if they might come an help me second time round as i dont really know what to look for in condition etc other than the obvious pannels ... and the floorpan (which i wouldnt have a clue to be honest!) :) :roll: :D

What i do know is that the lady has owned it from new ... it has 20,000 original miles and it has been stored since 1989 :)

depends if it's been dry stored! if it's been sitting in a field for the last 15 yrs it could be a little beyond restoration! give the heater channels a squeeze as they will be one of the biggest problems!

that said i missed out on the bug in london that went for £50, original 65 solid as a rock and passed an mot the next day!

lets hope its a minter that you can get for the price of a packet of bourbons!
