i want to lower the front end of my bug a bit :) Can you please give me some advise as to the best way to do it, and what i would need (in language a girl can understand  )
I am bored of her being at stock height now .... she is a '72 model, if that makes any difference
Thanks

I think we need to have a midlands tech weekend...

i need two cars lowering, a couple of rubbadubbas have busses/bugs that need lowering.

all we need is someone with a big garage and a big welder :)

easiest way is to buy some dropped spindles(£200+)

next is to buy a new adjustable beam(£140ish)

cheapest is to get you existing beam sorted by welding some adjusters (sway aways/avis) (£24 + time welding)

for a bug the

cheapest way would be ajusters and lowerd shocks(depending how low you want to go)

ajusters £20
new lowerd shocks £60
and a very nice bloke with a welder  to do the work £70

or droped spindels about £220+ i think and get some one to fit them

a van is

ajusters at about £100
and the same very nice bloke about £200 labour

or simply go to a scrapyard a rip an adjustable beam off Dave & Adriene's old bug, trash the laguana the bug was sitting on in the process, give the guy 20 squid and drag it home!!! oh and finally wind the adjuster all the way down!!! :D

Just lowered by project Bug 2.5 inches up front on drop spindels, very easy, very quick, and 3 inches at the back (1 Spline) very easy but needs 2 people and patience.

Fitting an adjustable beam is just as easy but requires more messing around in tighter spots, (the welding part leave for plumcrazee)!!

Had this idea before Christmas - https://volkstorque.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=730 - what do you think?
