Make sure you gets pics of the underneath of it... heater channels, back end of the heater channels, inner wings, front bulkhead and floors coz obviously they're gonna be the hard bit.

Ooh, beige, a real man's colour! I like beige Beetles, they just look so unassuming but ever so slightly smug, like they know they rock but not many others have twigged it yet...

As blistered said, make sure floors, channels inner arches etc are solid. If the bolt on panels are good then that's a bonus as original metal is better than repro shite, but it's not the end of the world if it is bad.

all depends on how much it actually goes for in the end! If your after a light resto then you may be lucky with this one and it might only need light recommisioning but as this has been sitting for 3 years you'll be needing to replace all the rubber pipes (fuel and brake) and possibly all the brake wheel cylinders and master cylinder, drain and clean the fuel tank, service the engine etc etc and thats before you start on repairing the crash damage and any rust issues. i'd reckon you'd be better off with one thats been used more recently / mot failure etc where you have a list of faults to fix, if this one is rust free then it would be easier to fix this than a rotter, but from the looks / sound of it its gonna need welding.

For the right price it would be worth it.

To replace the bonnet and front wings for some good second hand ones you'd probably spend 50 quids. If you dont mind them being a different colour.

As its been standing for three years in a garage i would expect some rust on the channels but probably not too bad.

If this is going to be your daily then you do need to go and have a look for yourself at the condition or if thats not possible lots of pictures and a phone call to go through the overall condition of the car with the owner.

As rapid said a recent MOT failure bug is a good base as you know what needs fixing and they will be a little cheaper as the majority of people want a solid mot'ed bug they can drive straight home.

Sometimes its good to take a gamble But only if your willing to loose once in a while
