Any computer bods on?

Had to re-format the h/d over the w/e and now the screen resolution is having problems.
640 x 480 is ok but if you try and increase to the 1024x? the picture starts shaking and won't stop 'till you change it back to the smaller one.
Any ideas?
It didn't do this last time the h/d was re-done.
It's xp pro if that helps

cheers
steve

Hi

make sure you have installed the GFX card drivers, if you do not have the disk find out what make of card you have and go the website and download the latest drivers.

yep , graphics card drivers, and also make sure it has detected your monitor, as the refresh rates need to be compatible.

Has your monitor got that twangy thing on, think it de-magnatises it or something, sometimes when mines got a shake on I press that and it goes "twannng", shudders then stops shaking.

I use that windiws, my screen settings are 60 hertz / hardware acceleration-full / 1024x768 highest 32bit /

Check the monitor display properties - settings tab / advanced / monitor tab if your monitor isn't selected, click properties / driver / update driver / install from list - next / don't search - next. manufacturers - models, click your model.

If that don't help, then I dunno

you can usually find drivers on the restore/install disk. just stick it in and right click on the drive icon in my computer and hit explore and look for a drivers folder and then an EXE file. might be seperate for audio, video and NIC but just look at the filename and it should give it away.

if wondoze has chosen the wrong drivers then you might have a bit more of a problem !

deleting them and installing the new ones before windoze installs the old ones again can be a bit frustrating !

thats why I now use linux !
