Thanks for the call this evening Lee - will take all the advice given particularly about the bolts on the head. I'll look at the thermostat and check the water pump tomorrow. I might have a word with Micheal at Machine 7 he has a copy of ETKA and maybe able to find out what the switch/valve is an top of the header tank.
