Seems to be heading that way
AVG has missed out on a few things recently and started slowing up so I swapped to Avast

don't 2 antivirus systems work against each other tho??
my last pc i had avg and pre-installed norton and was forever having problems and got told the 2 programmes were fuckin each other (so to speak)
that said, after installing avg on this one i have noticed how much slower its become

some will, some won't.
It won't help things overall by having 2 AV packages on tho. Especially if they decide to scan at the same time
Mick, the reason for your conflicts is that Norton conflicts with everything
Avast is doing pretty well on my machine at the mo & that's saying something cos it's got 1.2 terrabytes to keep an eye on

Download this program (Hijackthis) http://www.merijn.org/files/HiJackThis_v2.exe
Do a system scan with logfile and email the logfile to me on
I'll have a look and see if there's anything particularly out of order.
Once that's done,
Download the latest version of Avast antivirus, Adaware and spybot.
Leave them running till they're finished.
If you can do the hijackthis log first it'll give me a better view of any crap in case the antivirus\adware progs don't remove things fully.
Si
Will do, cheers!
And I see now how Norton works. It protects your machine by making the internet such a pain in the arse to use that you never turn your pc on!
Thus making it a £300 game of solitaire.
