but if its the pattina type look you want to keep then its easy to do .

You could make up a kit that would blend and pattina 10 buses for under a £100 if you shopped wisely.

Its all abrasive just in different strengths and its they way you use them that makes it worth the effort

You'll have to give me more info, please

I've spoken briefly to different people about it but havn't had any real advice on what's the best way to tackle stripping the paint

go for a decent respray tony, when the patina look is out, which in my opinion will be soon, you will need a respray anyway. Plus you've got a decent bus, why not have it looking like new

Making patina is faking it IMO. If you're going to spend time make a car look old, then make it look good instead!

You can't fake patina, it's something which evolves over a period of time!
Like leaving it parked up under a tree for 2 1/2 years like my 914!!

if you realy need to change it then have a nice paint job on it if you dont leave it as it is

the patina/rat look isin my opinion any way

just a lazy way to save having work done

Oh me 'ed's spinnin even more, now

My intention was to see what's under the yellow, to see if the original blue was good enough to have showing again ?

Possible it was sprayed because they didn't like the original colour & there's nothing wrong with the original paint ?
There doesn't appear to have been any collision damage & it looks mostly original under the re-spray.
I wasn't intending to 'fake' the patina, I just like busses that have managed to survive at least 40 years with original paint.

Dilema continues
