WARNING . . . WARNING . . . SORN DECLARATIONS!!!!!!!!
I've just been hit with a £40 fine from the DVLA - AND ITS MY OWN FAULT!!!
I got home from work today to find this letter saying I face a penalty, for not declaring one of my cars SORN.
Fact is, I bought my Jetta Syncro off Mr Big last September and he offered to tax it for me. Like a twat I said no cos I won't be driving it straight away, so he knocked £60 off the price and sorned it - nice bloke!
When I phoned up the DVLA to complain that I hadn't had a reminder, and that the car was sorned by the previous owner anyway, I was told that the sorn becomes invalid when the car is sold. So it was only sorned for 2 days!
SO BE WARNED - WHEN YOU BUY A CAR WITH NO TAX, YOU MUST RE-SORN IT!!!!!
