Do kids prefer 'normal' cars?

I am a bit worried that when my kids grow up - they will feel emabarrassed by my our choice of vehicles. One of our friends, who has had nothing but VWs for years & years says his kids wanted him to have a car like the other kids' parents. What do your kids (if you have any) think of your VWs?

(we don't have a 'normal' daily driver)

I don't have any kids but a lot of kids/teenagers think my car is from prehistoric times A girl I know recently said she prefers 'normal shaped' cars and that Beetles are ugly.
I baby-sit an 11 year old sometimes and he is so iffy about my car, it's hilarious.

As a kid I adored Beetles and vowed to have one and never own a new car

I think Bazil felt the same way - which is why we now own the Beetle his best friend used to get taken to school in.

My lad has only never known me to have VW's or Early Porsches! And as his mom doesn't drive, it's a big treat for him to have a ride in a car with both heating and a stereo!!!

He thinks the Type25 is cool cos we can put the bikes in the back, go for a ride and they cook bacon sarnies!!

He hasn't seen the pick up yet, as I took him back on Saturday before I picked it up, but he saw thew pictures on the internet and didn't understand why I thought it looked so cool!

My 3 yr old is completely obsessed with the buggy in summer and loves the beetle, in fact she has declared (this weekend) that she wants a car like daddies, and that she wants to learn how to mend them, how chuffed was I

awww has she said the famous 'When i grow up i want to marry Daddy' thing I was a real daddy's girl .... still am

As for the question ... I agree with Dublady 72 ... depends on the child .... i think if VW's have been shoved in the kids face relentlessly then they start to loathe them ... but leave them to make up their own mind an i think you'll be surprised!!

In anycase i think VW's are in the blood an it will surface eventually
