When i bought my beetle the accelerator pedal was missing and the bracket on the floor was broken off.
I bought a pedal and bracket and i need to get the bracket welded to the floor.
I dont weld so i have asked around for someone to do this very small job and someone suggested bolting the bracket to the floor instead.This had crossed my mind before and is tempting.
The only bad thing i can think of is having 2 bolts through the floor could increase corrosion around that area.
Is it a good idea or should i get it welded on?

should be ok if you smother the joints with sealent as your assembeling it, if your bolting it,
use stainless bolts and nuts
