beetle trailer

thinking about choping the back end of the 1303 & turn it into a trailer not sure how much of a job it would take
any idea's on the best way how to do it

my idea was to use the original suspension & wheels,remove the original floor & then replate the complete floor right upto the rear valance,steel front & top basically turn it into a sealed trailer,& the only entrance into the trailer was thru the engine lid,& also put a little roof rack on top like the triumph spitfire boot luggage rack ???

what i can work out that there is a hell off a lot of fabrication work to do but it i'll keep me busy for a while & a interesting project, when its finished i'll spray it the same colour as green/white bug

it's not too hard with an irs bug. The one of mine was a real budget job. Main thing to sort is some sort of Y shaped frame for holding the towing hitch, but you could make it from box section - 1 bit from each heater channel and 1 from the central tunnel. Cut the luggage area out and board it with thick ply.
Does give you a lot of space tbh.

Would it be feasible to weld on one of those beetle towing frames that attach to the front beam, the ones from VW Heritage for £70?
