Ok, listen up, everything is now sorted (kind of!) for my 40th Birthday Camping Weekend!
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September
The location is Baggeridge Country Park, which is near Wombourne and at the back of Himley Hall.
They have a separate area for camping and we can use one of the fields as well.
They have a good modern toilet block, a couple of showers, clean water and elsan points and also a cafe on site as well.
They also have an area where we can have an open fire in the evening and just sit around and drink some beers, so bring plenty of tinnies and plenty of wood!
Anyone who has been there will know how nice it is, for those that haven't, it's well worth going. Plenty of paths for woodland walks, and plenty of playing area as well!
There are several routed walks which are ideal for both children, less abled and dogs as well.
They have the ampitheatre which is the large field which makes for a superb rounders pitch or football.
They also have ponds/pools to go fishing....! They also have a kiddies adventure playground.
The area boasts a toddler's sandpit, death-slide and swings as well as a climbing frame structure with rope bridges, tunnels and slides. An absolute must for all children!
See here for the rest of the stuff they have there!
Baggeridge Country Park Facilites and Activites
They also have something pretty special which opened up last month
Closer to the edge! Baggeridge Aerial Rope Adventure!
It's a 45 foot high aerial adventure playground for adults (and children from 8 yrs and up!)
and it's not for the faint hearted! We can book this in advance if people wanted to do it and we could get a group discount.
Now, here's the crunch, we can book this up but it comes down to cost.
For a night they charge a whopping
£5.90 per campervan! (2 in a van, £2.95 each!)
If you are a single person in a tent, they charge
£3.20
If there are 2 in a tent, then they will charge
£5.90
If you've 2 adults and and 3 children, it's
£5.90!
Now, you can't grumble at that!
We get to use everything there (the Closer to the edge facility is charged extra as it's an outside company).
Everyone says that the best part of going to a show is being with yer mates, well, now we can do all this for next to nothing cost wise!
And it's only 1/2 drive tops from Telford, down the Rabbit run, left at Himley lights and right at the next Island.
And yes, before you ask, dogs are more than welcome. We've taken Roxy over there walking a few times and it's perfect for dogs, as well as a blast on a mountain bike or some BMX'ing.
BBQ's are allowed and they have a BBQ area in the campsite. All BBQ's/Fires must be off the ground.
we need to pre book and let them know numbers 1 week before.
if you can make it, and you are all invited, please pop your name down here!
I will start collecting monies at the next club meet.
