Just joined, impressed by all the postings going on. About me - no vw yet, am interested in getting a bay poptop camper for family days out and holidays. We went to Camperjam today, our first show, we thought it was good, and got to look at some lovely vans and met some really nice people, but judging by some of the postings here, others shows are alot better. We're planning to camp at Vanfest in September.

A question for the community - what's the view on the Brazillian Danbury conversions? They seem like an option for people like me with no mechanical know how, but they also seem really expensive? I mean for half the price they are quoting i could get a top notch original bay restoration. Has anyone got one or spent tme with one?

I used to know a bloke who worked at a place that sold the new ones ........... he bought an original camper and drove it every day

They are expensive and rust, so i would save your money and buy a restored older camper and a copy of the "idiots guide" book
