No plates

Anyone run without front and/or rear plates? Anyone run with sticker plates rather than 'proper' ones? Whats the deal with plates and what can you get away with?

There's some info on here which may help

http://www.the-ace.org.uk/index.php?id=60

Personally, I don't run a front plate as I think it looks better without one

Illegal tho

depends on the copper.

Have one in the car so you can say it just fell off and take yer chance but the likelyhood is that you'll get a producer.

Rear is the main one but running without either is illegal and asking for trouble cos you can guarantee a jobsworth will pick fault with your car and you could risk getting points. Such as 3 points for each tyre which is illegal etc etc.

There is no penalty as such although getting a producer is a PITA as you'll have to take the car to an MOT station and pay them then go to the local plod and take yer documents in. So it will cost you time and money.

Mis-represented plate = upto £1000 fine.

No plate = £30 fixed penalty notice but not endorsable with points
