What's the point?

Today is one of those days where I have thought to myself, thank god, and whats the point!

Thank god - I didn't go to action because out of the three dubs I may have gone in all have had problems. Daves gearbox is shagged (I think) Ians accelerator cable has snapped and by the sounds of it Chelle is going to take forever to get home as she can't go over 55 mph! The RAC have taken all day to go and fetch Dave and they have told Ian 'They'l send someone out to have a look' (bear in mind that he is stuck on the hard shoulder of the M6 with two dodgy cars pulled up behind him doing what could possibly be a drug deal!! how is the RAC bloke going to be able to check out the van without being run down and I bet his mates are chuckling away to themselves as they can probably see it all from the RAC building! )

What's the point - Of owning classic cars when all they seem to do is let you down? I think of all the money we've had to spend on our two and I think how far it would have gone towards paying for our wedding!

I wouldn't be without the van now for camping at shows even though it still needs so much work doing to it. And I love our bug to pieces it will be ready to ferry me to the wedding! (13 mths and counting - tight deadline!! lol)

Man I feel better now!

Well ask yourself this. How much would a new car cost you? £250 a month? Main dealer services? Depreciation

They can be a ballache but what else would you do with your time

Oh i'm not daft I don't soley own classics we would never get anything done otherwise! I have a great tiny little car which everyone takes the piss out of but it costs me next to nothing and so far has been reliable (you wait now it'll start being all crappy!).

As for my time, I have plenty to fill it without having to get on my hands and knees in me overalls and sort out nuts and bolts that are covered in oil! I have to say my knowledge of cars is growing by the day. I can point out a vaccum advance at ten paces!

What you need is a restoration project and just never drive it! so this means you have an old vw but it never brakes down because it will never be finished. My van is gonna be like the fourth bridge by the time ive gone from front to back the front will be rotten againleast i dont have to drive the peice of shit

cos you need an interest to stop just sat in front of the tv all night (well I do anyway)

And after spending years in amdram, been to two companies this week and it just sinks in how people youve know for years are not really friends, whereas people in the vdub scene you met last week are now friends.

Unfortunately she doesn't yet have enough posts to get into this area, which is a shame because this is where the old slag's needed most. I love her!!

Honestly, she'll spend 5 minutes in here and Roadie can shut this secition down 'cos it'll be empty!
