MK1 Golf cabrio Seat problems

Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask a question about seat problems. Basically I have an 88' MK1 Golf Cabrio and I have problems with both front seats.

Both seats have a side lever which you use to raise the seat backs to allow people into the rear of the car. Now the cable that is attached to these levers has broken meaning I have to push a metal button at the base of the seat (which the lever would usually lift) to get the seat back to lift up.

My question is, is there any way I can fix this problem or are the seats totally fooked??

Cheers

Matt

yep. you can unhook the seat cover at the bottom of the back rest and puch it up a bit. this'll expose the cable which if your lucky you can join the 2 ends together using a electrical block connector (the type with 2 screws) or if its too short or badly frayed add a length of bicycle brake cable in the same way.
