flickering battery light

flickering battery light
any ideas, my battery light flickers , have had new belt and nice and tight, not too tight though, seems to be if im in the 3rd gear and iving it some welly, approx 40mph, light flickers. when coming up a big hill tonight was in 3rd doing approx 35-40 and light flickered, then was pulsig brightly till i got home, didnt cut out at all/
any ideas
