Generally speaking anything with what's called 112 pcd x 5 stud

112 pcd is the distance between two centres of stud holes, not two next to each other but e.g. the first and third one round (so there's one in between).

Old Jag wheels and old Merc wheels mostly all fit

from this ^^ to this VV with some autosol and elbow grease

^^ merc wheels

It gets a lot more complicated than that but so long as you find wheels advertised as 112 pcd then post on here if they will fit and not rub on the arches someone should be able to tell you.

One thing to look out for is you'll likely need new studs at least in the front hubs. VW didn't get very generous with the length of wheel studs, they'll only really take the weedy thickness of the steels middles. Alloys are normally somewhat thicker and you'll need longer studs so you can get the wheel nuts on proeprly and safely. Once you ahve wheels that fit regardless of studlength then call Creative Engineering and they'll supply you with the right length studs (this is what I did) and fitting them is a case of removing the caliper and disc and then taking the hub off and banging the studs out and fitting the new ones in

Hope this helps

yep as above, some wheels will also require the centre's opening up (easy with a drill / dremel type thing or a file) and some will require stud holes enlarging.

some of the old volvo 240's alloys will fit the granada wheels as mentioned, but also merc and some audi wheels, and also the occasional honda (prelude i think).

The later shape (97 onwards or something like that) Audi A4 rims fit with a bit of fettling.

how much have you got to open up the centres on grandad cossie wheels does anyone know?
got a set at home that need blasting and painting, but would make sense to do the modifying first!
