I didnt really know where to post this but does anyone know of any places that do paint match ups in aresol form. I just want a can of white and blue but i want them matched up as best as possible. Ive heard that halfords do this service. Has anyone used this?
Halfords will only mix paint to a paint code...so unless you have a code for your paint, try a specialist automotive paints supplier, check the yellow pages, i know here in plymouth there is a place that can scan the paint and it will create/give a paint code from your paint... good luck!
Never used the service myself but some friends have and its not been too bad ive always used Jawel paints but think there only west mids based
I agree with the above. I had some cans matched to my red Bay and the bloke did it by taking a panel I'd took off the bus! It worked out at £10 a can, and the paint goes on beautifully. The only Jawel Paints shop I know of is on the Cannock Road {A460} Wolverhampton at Finchfield {opposite Hylton Peugeot garage}.

I got the impresion halfords scanned it. I havent really looked into the halfords thing but i will do. Theres only 2 or 3 patches that want colouring over. I could probably get the blue because its quite a normal looking colour but the white looks like it used to be blue and painted over with white so its like a really really pale blue
From my experience matching paint correctly is very difficult. You can get away with more if you do a whole panel and it is seperated from the next panel by beading for example but trying to blend in on an existing panel is nye on impossible. I have had several people try and mix paints from codes and they are never bang on unless you get it from the people who painted it last. As Rich says the best way is to get it scanned if you can but trying to find someone locally who can do this may be the difficult bit.
well its for a bit where the vents are on the engine cover at the back, under the window, theres some orange showing thru and a bit of white where someone attacked it with a angle grinder
