white yellow gunk in oil filler cap

what does this mean in a 1974 camper 1.6 engine soz bout the last post in wrong section thanx tricky

most likely condensation mixing with the oil. Do you do a lot of short journeys ?

clean it out of the cap with a rag, and see how long it takes to come back.

How often do you change the oil ?

i have done a few short journeys ov late had it serviced in december so oil change then

if its done less than 3k miles i would not bother changing the oil just yet, clean the filler cap out with a rag give her a good long run so she gets properly warmed up once in a while, next problem with short runs is the heater pipes to the inlet manifold will coke up and you will get carb iceing in the winter!

Dont worry about the gunk had it in my bay in winter when on short runs, but not so much when doing crew and back every day! (was in stoke then)

CARB ICING.... of course, i wonder if thats the cause of the problems that youve been experiencing lately, post up your symptoms nita, lets use the collective knowledge of VT3 to answer your problems

ok drew here goes when i start up its fine for about 5 mins then cuts out and i cant take me foot of the gas or he just dies a sorry death so i start up again and leave gas on low revs for about 20 mins before i can let it off then its fine if i dont do this then he cuts out at every junction and people get very angry with me then theres the gunk but wobbly say just wipe it out its with short jurneys but keep eye on it anyway and go for a run out in him
he goin in to see dr lee on sat wobbly sorted it for me hes just ace isnt he plus hes a leveller mate

it was mate when u fixed it then took it for service n they messed with it so i think they set it up back to before idiots
