Not a very interesting car, but here goes!
With my K70 still not finished, and my daily Beetle off the road for serious structural attention, I needed a little car to fill the void. It had to be small, economical, have MOT and be less than £500.
Finding something local that wasn't garbage, short on MOT or dodgy was not an easy task. I was just about to give up when I noticed this little Polo appear on Autotrader. The advert was less than an hour old when I rang, and within 2 hours of the advert being placed I'd gone to Swadlingcote and bought it.
In that time, there'd been 3 phone calls and 21 email enquiries about the car!
It's a 1991 Polo 1 litre saloon, as you can see. Done 91000 genuine miles, and is in pretty good nick aside from a few minor scabs here and there.
(Pics are a bit dark, was evening when I got it home!)
Interior is VERY clean:
Nothing hiding under here:
How do I know it's done 91000 miles? Why, I looked at the full MOT history since 1996, receipts for the last few years and VAG service booklet of course.
Came with EVERY booklet from new, including the handbook, warranty book, dealer map, world dealer directory, receipt booklet and service book:
Services and original receipt:
It's got 12 months MOT and is taxed until the end of May. How much did all this cost me, I hear you not-ask?
£395. Well pleased.
Was quite an experience driving it home, having driven a 72 Beetle every day for the last 4 years, I kept thumping the brake pedal. And nearly going through the windscreen because the brakes on this actually work!
Plans? None as yet. All spare time is going on the K70, and then the Beetle.
Then maybe we'll see about having some fun if I've still got the Polo at this point.
