SO THIS IS THE WIFES BUG..pics/progress

we bought this early this year for the grand total of £450,tax exempt 71,solid,looks like a old b289 styled bug,1200 blank canvas....heres some pics of it when we got it,enjoy

the bug has had lots done before we got it,new front clip,new 4 wings,new stock running boards,all the welding finished & nice n solid,just needed straighting out

1st job was to sort out a decklid & completely rewire the lights,horn etc...
then fit my smooth fibreglass running boards,plus some domey caps

the body has been detrimed,dehandled doors & the moon vents also have been deleted
to get the bug thru its mot ive tempry swappped the doors with handles,as the popper were goosed

next thing was to delete those dodge big door buttons off the wings

so out with the welder & bog...there you go

next we decided to semi smooth the knobs on the busy dash

out with the welder

then the bog...

just needs the matt black treatment now

satin blue would suit it lovely

what are you doing with them doors with handles ?

will sort through the solenoids this weekend and post piccies

now its time to get rid of that 70s lid in favour of a semi w,once again this came off a b289 bug,with stand off holes n welded up popes nose etc...

hers how the dash looks in matt black as the bugs going matt black with detailed pink bits,empis etc....

detailed clock stripped n paint splatted
now time to sort out the bare metaled engine lid,then offer up the fibreglass blade bumpers

hi mick,im only lendin these from a good friend,while his bug is in the garage being rebuilt!....thats why i need to get mine back on asap...cheers...

remenber this is my missis bug,so lots of pink,then i can do bits i want

ive had to take squaryspice off the road for winter & our rat bay too,so this is going tobe our winter dub

next then,ive tryed offering up the blades,with this having late rear wings,theres a fair bit of work in getting this to look right,easy to buy the right year wings but 1 these wings were new,2 im broke so i messed instead

ebay specails empi 8 reps for £80..soon to be pink
or my centras being tryed on too

lookin like a bug again.....
no pics but its now got slopeys on the front againtoo

so now its got one piece front windows,rear wings now welded up & smoothed,also got a set of us red lenese off ebay,£3....splashed abit more black paint on too

next up is to cut the new clip up to convert it to early blade bumper front
as soon as bits come from cool air
