Slik 88 (Silver) Universal Tripod with three way pan head
This is a great tripod! The legs are constructed from non twist ribbed box section aluminium and all incorporate quick release locking tabs. At the end of each leg there is an adjustable foot which allows for use of either the integral metal spike or rubber pad depending upon terrain.
The legs are fully adjustable and will work independently of each other as well, allowing you to set it up in the most awkward positions possible, letting you use it to take photos from anywhere between 20 cms off the ground to nearly 1.7 metres high! The extending centrepost is worked by a handle allowing precise positioning and can be locked into place once youve set the right height.
The three way panning head is great, no free play and has a spirit level bubble to ensure you can get the tripod set up level. The base of the head also has a calibrated scale which is a real help for panoramic photography (calibrated for 28mm, 50mm or 100mm lenses on 35mm or full frame DSLRs). The head also has a quick release post so you can remove your camera in a couple of seconds.
All in all this is a superb, solid, reliable workhorse of a tripod that takes a lot of beating for sheer stability and versatility.
