Looking to buy a laptop for a xmas present. Doesnt need to the most upto date as long as it works and is wi-fi, for the mrs who has no idea about computers, to use and learn. Anyone got one for sale or any advice as where to get good 2nd hand or a good deal.

The best place to look would be eBay, but if you're interested I have an old Dell C600, 1GHz, 512MB, 20GB HDD, CD-ROM, running Windows 2000 Pro, which would need a PCMCIA wifi card, and possibly a tidier looking Power Supply (I've strengthened the 20v DC cable on the existing one with self-amalgamating tape), but a new Power Supply is available on eBay for just £7.49 if you look.

You can get free Antivirus and AntiSpyware off the Internet, and I'd recommend Firefox or Opera, plus Thunderbird for email, they are free too.

Looking at eBay prices, I want £65 plus whatever it costs to send it in the post, can't say fairer than that.
