t2 engine mount bar needed urgently

don't suppose anyone got one of the above languishing in their garage/ shed
to fit a late bay (P reg)?

we are borrowing an engine whilst ours away again being sorted but need a replacement bar and the back tinware that shields from the middle of van.

willing to pay obviously!!!

As long as it's not a type 4 engine you don't really need the support bar on 72 on bays as the gearbox is supported (took mine off years ago). Should be fine short term without

on my 68, the gearbox isn't supported

Yep - 68-72 early bays you will need one as there's no rear 'box mount just a front one and the bar at the rear.
72 on has the late bay back end with a rear 'box mount

cant say I believe the engine will be alright dangling off the gearbox!!

so far she has run well with basic servicing...considering the issues we have had with van our motto with Dora (the beetle) is 'if it ain't broke don't fix it!"

Took mine off 9 years ago when I put a bigger type 1 engine in that didn't have the support bar bolt holes in the case. Never had any issues.

basic servicing includes doing the valve gaps. VERY important ! these are got at from underneath !
