1974 Porsche 911 3 litre, MOT'd MEGA CHEAP!! May p/ex

Basics: Its a 1974 Porsche 911. It was MOT'd in June or July (I forget now! I'll check!). It isn't registered yet. You will need to insure it to do this and pay the 38 quid registration fee plus the road tax. All import taxes & duties have been paid (receipts to prove too).

.Mechanics: The car left the factory with a 165bhp 2.7 magnesium cased motor, but this was replaced by the previous owner by a later (1983) 188 bhp 3.0 SC engine, which are more robust as they have alu. cases and come with 11 blade cooling fans & are reckoned to be the most robust of the air cooled flat 6's. The engine is a US spec version of the 204bhp rest of world and can be, I'm told, 'converted' to ROW spec (and 204bhp!) pretty easily. I've never been that bothered though, as nigh on 190bhp is actually quite a bit! It has a flat spot when cold which is I've been told the warm up regulator. The brakes are discs all round and the front has been upgraded with (expensive!) S front aluminium brake calipers, and has braided stainless steel hoses all around. They work great (although its stood for a bit now, so will probably need to bed back in). Suspension wise its had new Koni shocks fitted by me up front to match the ones fitted out back.

Rolling stock is as per the pics, a set of 6x15" forged original fuchs which have had the paddles and rims polished but require the black redetailing. They have a full set of brand spanking new Dunlop SP Sport tyres on, which have literally been to the MOT test station and back again. They come with the original Porsche light alloy wheel bolts (if you've never seen or held one of these you wouldn't believe how light they are - Porsche attention to detail) which are all unrounded (a problem apparently).

Body:
Paintwise I have had the front end completely dismantled, bare metalled and resprayed in 2 pack paint to an extremely high (and expensive!) standard. The bonnet is a NOS panel replaced due to an accident in the paint shop (the bonnet, after being bare metalled was run over by the painter! Doh!). Wings, bumper & valance are the original panels. So from the windscreen back it has not been repainted this time around, but has been previously. It looks OK, but as you get up close it has microblistered, a common thing on imported vehicles from dry climates apparently. It wants redoing really, but does look fine still from about 3-4ft away. There are scratches around the rest of the car, but nothing huge. there is also a patch on one door where I dinged the edge against a wall (you can see it white in the pics) this has been straightened and recieved a skim of filler.

Metal - the car is genuinely rust free with the exception of the battery tray, which is a bit horrid - see the pics. Please note this is THE ONLY AREA OF RUST on the car. Most UK cars of any age and probably ALL early 911's wherever they are from will require (or have had) sills, scuttle repairs, A&B post repairs, kidney bowls, but not this one, its all original metalwork.

What it requires:
While it doesn't necessarily NEED it doing to be usable, I would do the battery tray.
The front end is semi built up following the paintwork (see pics) but still needs the fuel tank system building up (breather & filler - a bit complex actually), the bonnet needs the latch taking off the original bonnet and installing, the rubberwork needs refitting (Note - you will need to purchase front bumper bellows - appx. £15 each brand new). So basically its just the front end finish off being built up.

I have recently moved house and had to borrow the money for the stamp duty of my dad, which I am now seriously late paying him back, so the porsche has got to go. It will need trailering away, but is genuinely a very quick and easy project and if it wasn't for me needing to divert all my time and money into doing this bloody house then I would not even be considering selling it. Its an awesome drive!

I previously wanted 5,500 pounds, but I'm now open to offers on the car, and would possibly be interested in a p/ex depending what it was.

Heres eome pics before I took it apart to paint it, and how it is on my mums drive now...
loads more pics of everywhere on request (gimme your email).
