Well I say sad, but its hard to be sad when i've just had an offer accepted on the perfect house for us, so i'll no longer have the time or the money for toys like this.
Anyway, the car is a 68 ghia, plenty solid, not perfect but no rot, had new pans arches, sills etc. Paint is patchy but perfectly presentable.
Now this has recently been converted to a 2.2lt subaru engine, neatly installed with rad tucked into the spare wheel well up front. Engine runs nicely and cools properly, fuel pump is the proper subaru in tank version grafted into a brand new ghia tank.
Has discs all round to help with the stopping and runs 16" boxster rims with nearly new 195/45/16 tyres, shocks are koni and spax adjustable.
The car runs and drives, was road legal (is currently taxed but mot has lapsed while i finished the conversion - really shouldn't be a problem, but needs little bits finishing off, tidying wiring, boxing in the rad and engine bulkhead (got the steel for it) and other odds and sods. Interior is minimal, stock seats at the mo but no carpet etc, but has a custom steering wheel, sunpro tacho with shift light, water temp guage etc (all working), custom fitted moon eyes pedal.
Comes with lots of spares, mint drivers door, spare alloy rad, spare adjustable front beam, some coilover rear shocks (was going to experiment with handling), mini heater (easy to plumb in and have proper heating!) new stainless compact rear silencer and stainless pipework to create a superb custom exhaust, Awesome car company sports seats, porsche alloy pedal covers, US Spec all red rear lenses, Clear front indicator lenses, original ghia fuel tank, set of front and rear window rubbers, new door seals, a pillar seals, plus loads of other useful bits and bobs.
Basically its a near as damn it finished project that i was going to run for a season then paint and trim over the winter.
