'72 lowered bug

1972 tax exempt beetle. MOT October 2009 and Tax September 2009
Lowered on adjustable beam with empi lowered shocks, low profile tyres on front, stock height at the back giving a nice rake.
Not a pretty car, I prefer rat look but wouldn’t need much prep for a paint job, although don’t expect it to be a show car. I have tried to show the faults as best as possible. Car was resprayed before I got it but they didn’t prep it very well and it has orange peeled and is flaking off in places. I was going to flat it back and matt black it but never had the time.
Interior needs tidying, roof lining grimey and there is a split in the vinyl on the drivers seat
1600cc twin port, couple of leaks from the usual places, rocker covers. Alternator conversion. This engine was originally in my bay and has never let me down ever.
Replaced master cylinder and wheel cylinders, fuel pipe, wheel bearings, brakes 18 months ago. Replaced clutch 2 months ago.
Had this on the road for 18 months as my daily and it has never let me down, reliable car starts first time every time. Bought it about 2 and a half years ago, had been off the road since 1986

Reluctantly selling because I need some money to throw at my bay.

After £1750 for it and that will include a semi w decklid, full set of steel wheels, a spare 1300 engine, roof rack and whatever beetle stuff I can sort out.

Or if you don’t want the spares drive it away for £1500 but that is as low as I will go, I’ll stick the bits on ebay.

That's not oil under it, thats power steering fluid from the nissan I scrapped the other day
