I am looking for a car for my father and he has a budget of about £1000 i think.

Most interested in MK1 Cab, any model, any year but needs to have an MOT and a decent hood and be useable as a daily driver. Secondly a MK1 Golf, again any model but needs to have an MOT and be in good useable condition.

Having said all that, we just went out and bought a MK2 Scirocco GT 2 for £400!

I am still interested if anyone has a MK1 Golf/Cab in W.Mids (preferably near Stoke) area.

Not really looking for a MK2 Golf Gti as i already have a good one. Those cabs sound good but are outside my budget at this moment but times may change.

Early MK2 Polo may also be considered. Even project car if local.

A friend of mine has her Golf Cab for sale - it's a D plate GT (carbed, not injected), in green metallic with green hood, full Karmann bodykit, I think it's lowered but don't know how much. She's after about £1800 for it, so out of your budget, but I've not seen anything cheaper for a while!

I know that £1000 is relatively low for a cab but i missed one on Ebay a few weeks ago which went for about £650 with MOT, Tax, recent £300 service and 60k on the clock. I think it was a 1.6L, with Gti looks but not injected, E plate i think.

It was local as well....but i had no currency at the time. Since then i have bought a Scirocco (from Coxy) and i encouraged my father to buy a Scirocco that came up in the local rag for £395. I am still interested in cheaper 80's VW's in my area as i may have room on the drive for a project over the autumn and winter. Must be strict about the budget however as i have 2 cars and my father has one so it will be difficult to keep justifying more!
