Club idea???

What do folks think of this idea?

There are plenty within the club know have a good knowledge of the workings of a VeeDub and plenty of us who know very little but would like to know more!

So when ever someone has some thing that needs doing - like DIE5AL's master cyclinder change, why don't we (those with the know and those would want to learn) all meet up say at my workshop and have like a lesson in how to do..........?

It's just idea and some thing that a lot of us could benifit from.

Yes/No - any thoughts

good idea that man.
Would we be able to use the workshop after hours for something like this?
& if so what's the first 1st 'topic'?

That's a bloody good idea mate!

Would this offer be open to he Cov lot as well?
Me & Phil have just spent £180 on a 12 week classic car resto course in Stoke on Trent (£60 for the course - £120 for the petrol!), which turned out to be more like basic mechanics cos all the other students were thick as pigshit. Unfortunately, it is the nearest part-time course, but is 75 miles away.

Anyway, I've got an idea for the first topic. How to fit a porsche 'box into a 1303, I can even provide the materials!

Yes there's no reason why anyone who's in the know or wants to learn cannot come along.

I have the use of the workshop when ever I want it (provided the company mechanics aren't dominating it all - which would only be on a Saturday morning). So pretty much anyother time it's free.

All we need is to get the all the parts and peeps together at the same time.

Fitting a new box in your 1303 would be a good start. I also need to change a bearing in the box of my camper, but there's no rush for that. I also have a set of under car neons to fit to my girlfriends T25, and a beetle to prep for respray and reassemble. So we have enough to start with.

Any other things that peeps want sorting?

When are we going to start?

It looks as though we have a VW workshop/tutorial in the making.
