If the bidding in the auction goes above £100, then you'll not be able to see the indentities of the people you are bidding against. Seller can still see the indentities of all bidders though.

Their reason, to reduce to number of scam emails going out as 2nd chance offers, but it just means people can use aliases or their mates to bid on stuff to bid on stuff and no one will be any the wiser. Thus eBay are on a win win by gaining more commission fees!

well i love ebay most of the time. This idea will probably help get rid of scammers but really rubs my nipples because i cant curse their name when they outbid me or bid against me!

Yep. I doubt this is aimed at stopping scammers. Like Coxy says, it's more of Ebay's little window to plead ignorant to shill bidders

Do you get to see your own name if you are highest bidder ? I can imagine you could easily miss out - not realising, thinking you were there 'bidder 4' for example - thinking you are winning , when really you are bidder 3 and you aint gonna get it if you dont bid again !
