Surfing/Kayaking

Would really like to take up surfing but have concerns where
a)Live in the Midlands miles from any sea!
b) too old at 35??
c) have young family so free time at a premium

Have also thought of Kayaking as another option?

Anybody have any ideas/solutions/advice/tips or whatever

Or can you recommend another past time which is fun and will keep me fit (or should that be get me fit again!)

Cheers

Yeah, I wanna take up surfing too. I've never done it, but marvelled from afar lol. Went to Huntington Beach in CA in December, watched them surfing by the pier, how jealous was I...

Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a wetsuit. Just cos I can. Hoping to take the bug/ten/kid down to Cornwall over the summer
