Concrete garage base costs?

Anyone had a concrete base laid for a garage?

I'll be needing one roughly 20ftx16ft and around 100mm thick, any idea what sort of cost this is going to be? I've only laid concrete using 25kg bags of the stuff

cool, well on my dimensions it'd be around 3 cubic metres, so less than £500 ish.

I ve done a couple that size with a mixer.

one with 25Kg bags (took ages ! )

one with tip truck loads of balast. took about 5 hours and works out loads cheaper

it was about 20 quid a tone back then, plus cement at 2.50 a bag

a ton is aprox a cube

Thats a helluva lot of shovelling tho!

Ballast seems to be around £30-50 a ton (will need 3) and cement say another 50's worth, so i'd be saving around £100, but would probably have to pay double that at the osteopaths afterwards

it is a lot of shoveling, but I was quoted 200 a meter at the time for readymixed.

aslo check if it needs to be to spec for building regs for a car garage - but I guess you have an idea on that already
