VW Beetle Fibreglass shell

Hello all, can someone please point me in the direction of a full fibreglass Beetle shell or at least a frontend?

Seaside town + 60's metal car = bad times

Hi there and welcome to the forum!

Full glass shells are very few and far between, wizard did make them in the 90's but they weren't brilliant and few are left, although an unused one did come up for sale a few months back, try a google search.

Fibreglass flip front ends are still made but they are only the outer bit and are more for the racers. Fibreglass wings are made by daymouldings.

To be honest, you'll find that making a glass shell work is far far more effort than properly restoring your bug and you'd still have the floorpan in steel.

An all metal car is always going to be worth more than a car with fibreglass parts.

If the metal is properly restored and painted / undersealed then it'll last even on the south coast, vw's have happily survived for years in far worse conditions.

Thanks guys, I would go for the one for sale, but that fire damage is a little scary for the price, do the flip front Wizard one look just like the bug front or can you tell that it is different?

I just have a real complex that my little bug is wasting away

are we looking at the same pics ??

Is it just me that does not see it , to be honest mate the only major work on this is the osmosis on the top door and roof .

also its not plastic the only plastic bit is the white gel coat the rest is fibreglass and depending on what resin they used it could be heat retardent .

Are you the seller of it? imho I wouldn't buy it purely because the roof maybe warped from whatever crisped it, maybe it came from a famous racing car fibreglass is glass re-inforced plastic isn't it?
