Arghhhhhhhh! No more roof rack

Popped down to my local tip today and followed a big truck in,dumped my rubbish then drove out very carefully over the large speed bumps only tohear a scaping crunching sound stopped and realised the height restricters had caught my rack peeling it back.
Gutted rack a total write off and damaged my van along the lip where the clamps hook on.

Its not to bad had the rubber mallet to it when I got back its all pretty superficial.
Needed a touch up where the rack attached,been after a more blingy rack so will see if its worth claiming on my insurance.
I know it was my fault that I hit it but would have stopped and checked before I went in if the barriers were closed when i turned up, sods law they closed them when i was unloading.

fancy putting the speed bump under a height restriction on the exit. surely the height restriction should be on the way in?

go back and check the height between the bump and the height restriction probably find it dont match the signs

Speed bump a fair bit away from the bars! so I.m not blaming them just the fact that the bars were open on the way in and closed on the way out because they let a big truck in.

thats poo, not even worth trying it on, local government are better protected than bus companies when it comes to blame
