Bay rear lowering question

Been attempting to lower the rear of my 76 bay. Now the bus in on axel stands so the rear is completely off the floor, levered of the first plate and cus it is stock height there was a lot of tention on the plate, so when it is moved up one sline then there is no tention (ok, still with me). So when i do the other side it seems to me that there will not tention across the plates at all, or when i put the bus back on its wheels will there be tention.

Dont wont to do the job twice,

Any advise anyone

cheers

yep that sounds normal. you'll prob have to jack up the spring plate a little to get it on the spring plate stop bit.

if you dont have any tension at all ie you can lift the plate up all the way by hand then something is not right - prob the inner splines are not in or something daft like that.

if there is some tension then the wheels will settle in the lowered position
