Help with fitting front panel on a bay

hi im new to the site and could do with some help, ive been fitting the front panel on my bay today and have the a pillars lined up and the windscreen line but can only get one side of the panel to lip round on the side, the other side ive got no chance! has anyone got any ideas?? its only the front skin and a repro cheers

You may need to open up the panel edges to give necessary clearance. Also some form of compression helps. My new panel (Schofields one) went on no problem but i believe lorry ratchet straps could be used to 'pull' it over the A pillars. Good luck!

thanks for the adivce sounds like force is the only way,it just seems like the panel is a tad small but will try some straps tomo

Oh fk yeah! Don't try to be gentle dude...this is bodywork we're dealing with here. It WILL get slightly damaged on the edges (that's why they invented filler!) and does require lots of violence. I find, personally, that use of VERY strong language works wonders! Check out my resto thread here...

As above really, open up the fold slightly, 'clip' one side in and they you should be able to persuade the other one over. Pop your windscreen in before welding it fully though, just to double check.

Last one I did (72) was the repro igp panel - it's the only panel available in the uk - and it went on fine, the one before that (7was a bit tight on the edges so I gess it's individual to each avn tbh
